The Nebraska Cycling Association announced that the Nebraska State Criterium Championship was awarded to the Papillion Twilight Criterium that will be held Saturday, August 16th in Papillion, Nebraska.
The Papillion Twilight Criterium is a well established race that is in it’s eighth year. The course is a 0.7 with two right turns and six left turns in the downtown area. The course also has a number of hills with a long downhill and a tight turn right before the finishing stretch.
The Masters kickoff the races at 2:00pm with the final race being the Men Pro,1,2 going off at 7:15pm with their race ending as the sunsets. The total prize list for the races is $4,000.
This race being the Nebraska Cycling Association state championship is sanctioned by USA Cycling. Online registration is at usacycling.org and closes Friday, August 15th. Day of registration is also an option with a $10 late fee. Late fees will not apply for Juniors. And Juniors that pre-register by contacting the race director can register for free.
New this year is a team relay charity race with proceeds going to THOR ( Trails Have Our Respect) to assist with the construction of new mountain bike trails at Walnut Creek Park.
Friday, the day before is the Arrows to Aerospace Twilight Criterium at Washington Park in Bellevue, Nebraska. Races start at 4:30pm with the last race going off at 7:20pm for the Pro12. At 6pm are the Kid Races.
Online registration closes for Arrows to Aerospace at usacycling.org Thursday, August 14th at 6pm. There will also be day of registration with a $5 late fee. Late fees will not apply for Juniors. And Juniors that pre-register by contacting the race director can register for free.
